Hi Gill, I love the near symmetry of the first sunrise image - both side to side and top to bottom - but on balance I think I prefer the second one. It's the mirror flat water with the 3 buoys leading the eye towards the mill that really stands out. I can imagine how lovely it would be to just be there - definitely worth getting out of bed at silly o'clock!!

Thank you very much Judith. It's really interesting to hear other peoples comments and find out what they see in an image. I think I was so focused on the colours, the combination of blue and orange that I felt the first image was more interesting. It's good to hear an alternative view :-)

Thank you Laurence. Yes all good here. We were meaning to go and see them but haven't found the time! Guess it will have to be next year now.

Thank you for sharing your Layers in Photoshop advice, Gill. I have played with merging images in-camera but the Photoshop solution is far more flexible. I had better put the housework aside and build up a collection of suitable photos to have a go when the weather isn’t so good!

Thank you Sian, I am glad you found it helpful. Anything to delay the housework has to be a good thing! I look forward to seeing some of your images in the future :-)
