I would submit that even doing nothing, in this sense, is still productive. Any time spent in focused awareness hones your insight into nature and enhances your artistic vision!
Thank you for your comments Erik and I absolutely agree. There is so much we can learn about nature and ourselves from time spent in the landscape. I also think that regular photography makes better photographs so any excuse to get out and take images is good.

You are so right about backlit grasses, they are one of my favourite smaller subjects to photograph as they are so versatile and can look so different depending on the angle of the light and the shadows.
